1. Basic Information
Tundish is the intermediate links in the steelmaking process, and they are the connecting points from intermittent operation to continuous operation.
As a metallurgical reactor, tundish plays an important role both in the smooth operation of continuous casting and in ensuring the quality of liquid steel.
2. Effect of the tundish:
(1) Improve the flow condition of liquid steel, and remove the non-metallic inclusion in steel to the greatest extent; That is, to prevent short circuit flow, reduce dead zone, improve the streamline direction, increase the residence time of liquid steel.
(2)Control the temperature of liquid steel and add heating measures when necessary to keep the superheat of liquid steel stable.
(3)Select suitable lining refractory materials and pool covering agent, which can not only reduce heat loss but also be conducive to absorbing and separating and floating inclusions.
